Topics include:

  • Crisis Communications
    A focus on both public-facing and internal communications when crisis hits, this course combines theory with practical exercises to prepare students to communicate quickly and effectively when communication is most critical.

  • Positive PR
    Telling your organization’s story using communications strategies that connect and compel doesn’t happen by accident. This course focuses on representing your brand in the public eye, from social media to traditional media, using proven communications strategies that can be implemented immediately.

  • Media Relations
    From writing effective news releases to remaining poised in on-camera interviews, this course focuses on preparing students to represent the organization well when media attention arrives and includes student participation in a mock news conference.

  • Social Media Strategy
    A deep dive into both the strategy and policy considerations of using social media to connect with your public. Topics range from understanding your audience, responding to negativity to policy issues such as 1st Amendment considerations, retention, and ADA awareness.

All course topics and lengths can be customized to fit the needs of your organization. Everything from half-day sessions, to week-long intensives, to virtual training options are available.

All courses of one-day or more include one complimentary hour of phone or video consultation with the host organization for an emerging public relations issue.

Presentations

Julie Parker and Christopher Mannino have each taught and given presentations, both together and on their own, at conferences and organizations across the country. This includes a recurring course at the FBI National Academy and presentations at conferences for groups like the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Illinois Homicide Investigators Association, to name a few.

They have both been guests on podcasts including Indestructible PR with Molly McPherson, Leadership APB, and the PR Podcast.
